Militarists will look at the world in terms of military issues, Economists will look at the world in terms of economic issues... and so forth and so on. Along that line a great deal of what Warwick Powell expounds on are quite frankly beyond my current scope of understanding of economics... but the one thing that I found tremendously valuable was his view(s) on what he terms as the "Autoimmune Response" of the "Limits of Liberal Parliamentary Democracies"... Personally, I don't believe that I have ever been privileged to such an acute rational for what is currently occurring in this nation, and indeed on a global scale in western "democracies", wrt totalitarian governmental response... WOW!

Good find , love his updated definitions . Would be great to have a Chinese economist address the Trade deficit or mercantilism problem. Historically it always lead to wars. Not like its theoretical ya ?

its my hot take anyway. I'll check Warwick work perhaps he has a paper about it that i am not aware of hahaha 😎

yeah its a good one but also the story of all post WW2 US wars of choice.

Russia nationalized his defense industry, i don't know if it curb or grown political corruption (sadly we cant ask Prigozhin) but at least they don't have an Oligarch & Revolving door policy like The new US Warlord Eric Schmidt.

Fundamentally The problem is : like drugs , prostitution , organ traffic & war are economic activity. The GDP doesn't care about our welfare.

Mr Powell your knowledge and ability to explain economic system concepts and how they interact and interelate is excellent. However, it is very easy to see that you are firmly ensconsed in academia when you start talking about freedom of speech, the perils of "hate" speech, the victims of such and the risks posed by the dissemination of untrue information. It's a shame that people fall for the fabrication that so called "hate speech" is such a risk that it justifies censirship. It is a fallacy. Censorship only serves to divide factions further as it kills the opportunity to clarify, debate, explore nuance and overall to reach an understanding of and maybe even respect forthe view points of others. Additionally in many fields what is true can easily be discerned from data, statistics and measurements that are transparent and unmanipulated if this information is made available. To prevent truth being exposed is the primary purpose of censorship, (or rather the real reason for it as opposed to the "good" motivation that is claimed which is almost always a lie.))

Hrvoje, I haven’t listened to this interview with Warwick Powell yet, but I have a suggestion for a guest for you and I had to attach it somewhere…

I just watched a clip and a short interview with this man, and although you and I wouldn’t agree with him completely, I know that is not a requirement for your guests. He had a lot of very interesting things to say. I hope you will try to have him on your show soon.

Excellent interview with many great insights. I like his description of the financial used economy compared to the real economy, his description of money, and the ‘energy is the economy’ model. Well done! Well worth the time to listen!!

Would like to think that this guest isn’t driven by an agenda or ideology but his associations and investments seem to suggest otherwise.

Your guest appears to have been a screenwriter of the past five years.

.from Brave AI search technocracy and energy, response was:

In the technocratic framework, energy is considered a fundamental unit of currency, reflecting the idea that energy is the basis of all economic activity. This perspective is rooted in the work of Frederick Soddy, a Nobel laureate in chemistry, who wrote about the relationship between energy, wealth, and debt.

Technocratic Decision-Making in Energy Policy

Technocracy advocates for the application of scientific and technical expertise in energy policy-making. This approach seeks to optimize energy systems and resource allocation based on objective, data-driven analysis rather than political or ideological considerations.
