Hakeem is a perfect example of what I say that we need to end this extended power grab from those who hold power. I have a friend who was in the same situation - she was an "AI" degree candidate, but once she found that the jobs available were only in the realm of surveillance and facial recognition, she bailed and earned her degree in pure mathematics instead. The way out doesn't involve violence - in fact, violence will only expedite the final clampdown. But by walking away, by simply refusing to support those in power, from computer programming to payroll processing to janitorial services, the machine will grind to a halt on its own.
